The Non-Wood Forest Products Thematic Working Group (TWG) strengthens advisory knowledge and capacity around the management, production, and commercialisation of NWFPs, supporting new income opportunities, resilient rural value chains, and their integration into sustainable forest management.

About

The Non-Wood Forest Products TWG brings together forest advisors, practitioners, researchers, producers, and other stakeholders to improve access to knowledge and strengthen advisory capacities related to NWFPs across Europe. The group addresses differences in market maturity, producer organisation, technical expertise, and regulatory conditions between products and countries. Through practitioner exchange, knowledge mapping, targeted webinars, and the curation of existing resources, the TWG aims to make NWFPs more visible as an economic opportunity, facilitate knowledge transfer between experienced and emerging regions, and support their stronger integration into forest management and advisory services.
