About FORADVISE – Strengthening Forest Advisory Services in Europe

FORADVISE is a Horizon Europe-funded initiative focused on strengthening and modernizing forest advisory and extension services across Europe. By developing a strong, cross-border network of forestry advisors, the project enhances knowledge exchange, supports the adoption of digital tools, and delivers capacity-building actions that align with the goals of sustainable forest managementbiodiversity protection, and climate resilience.

The Role of Forest Advisors

Forest advisors are essential actors in shaping Europe’s forest future. They address key challenges by:

  • Supporting climate change adaptation and increasing forest ecosystem resilience
  • Promoting a balance between biodiversity conservation and economic sustainability
  • Accelerating the digital transformation of forestry services and rural innovation
  • Facilitating peer learning and cross-border knowledge exchange across advisory systems

FORADVISE will close knowledge gaps and provide tools to ensure that forest advisory services are modern, effective, and well-integrated within Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS) at both national and EU levels.
